What We Believe

Pleasant Hill Baptist Church stands first on The Word of God; along with some generally held convictions called The Baptist Faith and Message.

The Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, established July 3, 1848, was organized and continues to exist for the purpose of advancing and promoting the worship of God through the reading and study of the Holy Bible as the revealed and inerrant Word of God, the teaching and preaching of the Gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the conducting of regular services of worship for the spiritual training, development and benefit of each member, and for the winning of souls to Jesus Christ. This church shall be missionary in spirit, extending the Gospel through our organized religious channels to the entire world. It shall exist to provide regular opportunities for public worship, to, sustain the ordinances, doctrines and ethics set forth in the New Testament for the church of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to channel its offerings to support the objectives of the Kingdom of God.

We also hold to these truths:

We believe in the inspiration of the Bible (both the Old and the New Testaments); the creation of man by the direct act of God; the incarnation and virgin birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ; His identification as the Son of God; His vicarious atonement for the sins of mankind by the shedding of His blood on the cross; the resurrection of His body from the tomb; His power to save men from sin; the new birth through the regeneration by the Holy Spirit; and the gift of eternal life by the grace of God.
