Hey Y’all!  Jonathan McGary here with Pleasant Hill Baptist Church

And another edition of:  What I have Noticed

I am calling this one - What I have Noticed:  My Contrarian Point of View

If we look around at the world around us, read the news, watch the news, listen to the news or listen to many people talking about what is happening in the news.  We can quickly become overwhelmed with our situational surroundings.

Coronavirus, social distancing, quarantine, economy crashing, job loss, sickness, and loss of life.

Looking around we see the impact of Tornadoes, politics, racism, sexism, bigotry, hopelessness and despair.

We see church’s being threatened, freedoms being reduced, while hatred, and frustrations are being expressed.

We are living in a time of great division, impatience, and confusion.

It is no wonder that suicide, anxiety, and depression, along with mental, emotional, and psychological disorders are at an all time high.

But you know what I have noticed?

I am a contrarian and I am not going to let the negativity in this world, drag me down.

What if I told you:

We don’t have to panic because we can pray.

We don’t have to be defeated, because we are already victorious.

We don’t have to hang our head low, but instead we can hold our head high.

Because our helper is the Lord, the maker of heaven and Earth.

What If I told you that through Christ we are more than conquerors, and we are Overcomers because Jesus Christ has conquered and overcome.

What if I told you that there are still spouses that are faithful and don’t cheat.

There are people who are honest and don’t lie.

There are people who love you no matter what may come, or what you have done.

What if I told you that not everyone is a racist, a bigot, biased, or hating.

What if I told you that you don’t have give out, give up, or give in.

What If I told you that we can carry on, keep on, and keep on keeping on.

What If I told you that we can do all things by faith through Christ who gives us our strength.

What if I told you that there is hope to be found, a light at the end of the tunnel, and friend that sticks closer than a brother.

What if I told you that we are going to it through, you are going to make through, and everything is going to be alright.

Would you believe me?

Or do you choose to believe the world, the media, and those who choose not to believe?

Will you believe God when he says in Jeremiah 29:11-12

For I know the thoughts/plans that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and i will hearken unto you.

Don’t believe the nay-sayers, un-believers, and negative nil lies.

Instead take take heart, take hope, and take the Hand of Jesus...he will never leave you nor forsake you.

I hope you will notice what I have noticed.

Until next time...

I hope you remember that I love you, but more importantly Jesus Loves you.

Keep your eyes on Him.
