Speak Lord.  Your Servant is Listening?

In I Samuel 3 God is calling out to a boy named Samuel.  He is about to communicate the great message of Samuel’s calling to be the servant and Priest of God.

At first Samuel does not realize what is going on or who is calling his name.

But God is persistent, and eventually Samuel realizes it is God that is speaking to him.

We often complain that we don’t hear God speaking to us, but often God is speaking, but we miss what He has to say to us.

Sometimes we miss his Word for us because we aren’t expecting him to speak to us.

Sometimes we miss it because we are too busy for Him to speak to us.

Sometimes we miss it because we are looking in the wrong places or to the wrong people for Him to speak to us.

Sometimes we miss it because we don’t want or like what He has to say to us.

What is God trying to tell you today?

Did you know He wants to talk to you today?

Are you listening for what He has for you today?

Will you hear what He has for you today.

Will you respond to what God has for you today?

Oh our prayer aught to be, “Lord speak to me, I am listening.  I am here, ready to hear, and obey what you have for me.”

Like Samuel, we must learn to say...

“Speak Lord, for I am listening.”
